Billing

Manage the Stripe-backed subscription, plan allowances, and tenant capacity for seats and SKUs.

The Billing page gives tenant admins a controlled way to manage the commercial limits of the account without leaving the application. It is designed for Stripe-backed tenants and focuses on recurring plan selection, capacity changes, and access to Stripe-managed billing tasks.

Access

Billing is an admin-only surface. Standard users can view their own settings, but only tenant admins can change the subscription, seat entitlement, or SKU capacity.

Current Plan and Status

At the top of the page, ProFeT shows the current plan, subscription status, and whether the tenant is properly linked to Stripe. This is the best place to confirm that the tenant is billing-enabled before making changes.

Current Usage

Billing also shows live usage for:

  • seats, including pending invites
  • SKUs in the catalogue

This matters because ProFeT blocks downgrades that would leave the tenant below current active usage. In practice, if you already need a higher seat or SKU limit than the one you are requesting, you must reduce live usage before the downgrade can succeed.

Changing Plan and Capacity

Admins can:

  • select a base plan
  • set the total seat limit required after the change
  • set the total SKU limit required after the change

When pricing is fully configured in Stripe, ProFeT also shows a recurring-cost preview so the impact is clear before the change is confirmed.

Stripe Billing Portal

Use Open Stripe Billing Portal when you need to handle Stripe-managed actions such as:

  • payment methods
  • invoices
  • other subscription administration that belongs in Stripe rather than the main app

ProFeT keeps plan and entitlement management close to the product workflow, while Stripe remains the system of record for payment and invoicing tasks.

What Happens When Billing Is Not Ready

If the tenant is not yet linked to an active Stripe subscription, or Stripe pricing has not been configured correctly, Billing remains visible but change controls may be limited. In that state, use the page as a status check and complete the required billing setup before expecting full self-service controls.

  • Settings & Admin — User access, tenant setup, and linked admin surfaces
  • SKUs — SKU count affects billing capacity
  • Customers — Team setup often sits alongside seat planning during onboarding
